November 10th 1775, the Marine Corps was created; since that date, thousands of men and women have earned the honor to be named “marines”. The Marine Corps ball is an event that is full of tradition in which ROTC cadets come together to celebrate and honor the corps. The ceremony is organized by all cadets. It starts off with a prayer given by one of the cadets and the acknowledgment of the POW table. Then, a message from the corp is played. After that, sword detail marches out and take their positions facing the audience. Later, the color guards come out showing the colors along with the national anthem. Then it is the wheeling of the cake with the guest of honor getting the first piece followed by the oldest and youngest cadets of the program. Once the ceremony has ended cadets and their families are welcomed to take pictures and have some cake followed by the starting of the dance for the cadets.
