Eisenhower’s new buildings are finally finished and students’ opinions on the new buildings, not only students, teachers too. From Eisenhower first ground breaking in 1958 and opening in 1959. The recent ground breaking started on July13,2023, and after two years, students finally got the chance of being in the new buildings.
Kaylee Guerrero, a sophomore student, thinks the new buildings are nice, she thinks that we did need more buildings for more space. She thinks this is good looking and it stays on the school colors which is nice. But overall, Kaylee is worried about the design of the buildings mostly because of the windows. She is concerned that if one day we have a threat on campus or if something goes wrong, those windows are not going to help us.
Now a junior, Gisela Arias thinks the new buildings have very good air. She also says that they give a good impression of the school. “It makes it look better,”. She thinks the classes have a good amount of space, and a good view. Something Gisela is worried about is, If one day an intruder comes into school the big widows are not going to help
Mrs. Mills, a math teacher located in B-101, thinks the new buildings are great. She says she loves the buildings because before the new buildings her class used to be where the parking lot is at, also she gets to see more students and gets to talk to them. She feels more involved in her new class because it is closer to other classes. Another reason why she likes the new buildings is that the technology is better. Also Mrs. Mills likes the windows, “it makes the class look vibrant”. But for her it’s harder to decorate her class, beside in her first classroom where she started working at Eisenhower it was more simple to decorate. But over all she does miss her old classroom.
Daylin Quintero, a freshman, thinks the new buildings were a big upgrade compared to the old classrooms. She thinks the windows have a great view. Also, it’s very spacious and clean. Daylin says the windows are nice but, “it’s more dangerous cause you never know”.
Gianni Vergara, a senior, thinks the new buildings are good. She thinks it’s refreshing to see new and clean buildings. Gianni thinks the design creates a modernized look outside school after so many years. She also thinks the windows were not a good idea because she feels like people from the outside of school can see her. But overall she is concerned about her safety if something ever happens.
