I am a Senior here at IKE and this is my second year being a part of the Golden Gazette as a reporter, photographer, and the Journalism club’s president. Besides being a part of the journalism club I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family as well as cooking. My favorite book I have read so far is “The Way of the Samurai” by Inazō Nitobe and my favorite dish to make is a tuna melt. I also enjoy drinking tea and iced coffee when reading a book or writing an article for the school newspaper. My favorite kinds of tea include, pineapple tea, red fruit tea, and Hibiscus tea.

I am involved in the school newspaper to improve my writing skills and find joy in writing along with experimenting with different types of photography. It’s important to have a student run school paper because it allows students to address issues they have and highlight events happening on campus. The school news paper makes it easier for students to become more involved in the school but also in their local community .It’s a way for students involved to learn and improve skills such as critical thinking, researching, and communication skills.
