There are many different jobs out there and there are many different people who want those jobs. One of which is being a Youtuber. I’ve been a Youtuber now for about 2 years and here are some tips I learned that can help you when starting a Youtube channel.

Have a Vision

When starting a Youtube channel you want to have a vision for it. I want to know what your channel is about. People will pick what they want their channel to be about by using what they are passionate about. Some are passionate about technology so their channel is about technology and just tech reviews and stuff. It’s good to have a plan of what you want to start so that when you start that channel it will be smoother.

For example, when I wanted to start a Youtube channel I had to think of what I wanted the channel to be about. I also had to think of a name. You want to have a name for your channel. Even if it’s something simple like your name. My channel name is just my normal name, Dylan Fales. It’s about me sharing what God wants me to share. So that’s what my channel is about and I am passionate about it so I want to do it. Being a youtuber is something that you should like to do.

Get Materials

Once you figured out what your channel is gonna be about you now need to brainstorm what materials you need. You can do this by making a list of what you need for your channel whether it’s a camera or green screen or lights or other things.

For me, I know I needed a greenscreen, lights, a computer, and a microphone because what I do requires those things to have a good video. It really depends on what you’re doing. Looking up materials and seeing what other people use in their videos can help you know what you’ll need for your channel. There’s nothing wrong with getting inspiration from other Youtubers. Note: you don’t need to get all the materials you just need enough to where you can start something. Eventually you will get the other materials along the way you just right now need enough to start.

Start

So, once you have a vision for your channel and once you have enough materials now you can start your channel. Here is something to keep in mind when having a Youtube channel.

One, you can’t get discouraged. Because you just started a Youtube channel you are not gonna get the perfect video and you’re not gonna have a whole bunch of subscribers like other big channels. It’s gonna take time. Eventually you will learn new things about being a Youtuber and learn how to make your videos better like using editing software of some sort. You would have to look at videos on how to make good videos and learn along the way. You just can’t get discouraged and learn to grow along the way. I’m still not a popular Youtuber like other people but I still do it. It’s about not giving up and keep going so you can be successful. You’re gonna have to be patient.

Two, you have to be consistent. Part of being successful in Youtube is being consistent. I can kind of struggle with this. But being consistent is good when being a Youtuber whether you get paid or not. It doesn’t mean you have post every day, it just means you should be somewhat consistent. Don’t post a video and then post another one like five months later. You should be consistent when having a channel.

After doing all that eventually you will be known, it just takes time. Then you can think about other materials that can help you have better videos and then you can think about getting paid by Youtube if you want.
