Apps that are frequently used around by students in and out of school. Along with telling you what apps are frequently used on campus this article also explains what these apps are about and what the kids at school use them for. Explaining these apps will give people who aren’t too closely in tune with social media an idea of these apps and if they are in tune might feel like they can learn something.
There many apps to choose from that teens on campus can frequently be using. Main apps that are always in rotation are ones that everyone who grew up with the internet would know like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok, and snapchat. These apps have dominated the social media scene some for more than a decade others for a couple of years It’s no shocker that the younger generation dominate the majority of theses apps some of these apps have definitely lost the favor of the youth Facebook for example is one those apps that have become discarded by younger people while older users are what the platform now normally host.
When it comes to what apps are popular on campus two apps appeared the most popular Instagram and TikTok these app where the most frequent and seem to be the most used apps on campus TikTok is a mostly short form video platform that can have entertaining, funny, and even educational content some people who don’t use TikTok might have even heard about it in the news referring to the U.S government attempting to ban the app however TikTok was bought by an American company allowing it to stay in the U.S. Samuel Najarro a student who uses the app in his free time when asked what he often does on the app claims “I’m sending the videos to my friends” normal communication that happens on all social media when asked what type of content does he often see Samuel says “I like the videos about family”.
Instagram is the other app that frequents the campus grounds Paul Castro who was asked about this app seems to use it as a stress reliever claiming “i get funny videos that let me turn my brain off” but for Paul Instagram isn’t just for mindless scrolling since when asked what else he uses it for he says “I use it to plan activities with my friends”
These are good examples of what most people use for apps like Instagram and TikTok, however some parents might want more security for their younger kids who want social media. Good thing that on devices and the apps there are safety measures and information, in abundance, on places like YouTube. Phones these days can have app limits, block inappropriate content, restrict purchases, and manage communication with scheduled downtime. All these features allow parents to have their kids on social media without having to worry about what they’re doing or constantly checking their child’s phone.
