It’s been years since I was a freshman at Eisenhower Highschool and since then there have been lots of changes. One major change being the seating eras IKE has had to offer. I still remember the original wooden benches by the A building and where the second cafeteria used to be. Those benches were where I used to sit with my friends and it has since been demolished. This change was strange for me but as the years went on I’ve explored and what other seating eras I, and the people around me, can choose to hang out on during the day.
Cafeteria – starting off strong, the cafeteria was made for you to sit in. Designed with smooth material, the booths provide a nice place to rest as you eat your food. However, it’s easy to get cramped and run out of space for you and your friends depending on how many of you there are. The individual chairs also include a similar problem where they’re so limited you can either steal from other tables or stand by your friends. However, my personal favorite would be the large round tables near the stage where the seats are connected to the table. This allows me to sit at any angle I like because the seats don’t have any kind of back support which, depending on who you are, can be more of a con than a pro.

Concrete seating area – right outside the cafeteria are dozens of concrete tables and matching concrete seats. I would say, the only enjoyable time to spend your time there is when the weather is at a perfect temperature. When the days are sunny the seats begin to boil and are too hot to sit on. When the days are cold, the seats freeze and are too chilly to sit on, and when the sky rains the seats get wet. There’s little to no way to win with those concrete tables. But, nonetheless it provides a beautiful view of the quad during the day.

Green wired metal seats : Next to the concrete seating area in the quad there are 12 green wired metal seats. They surround the grass and large eagle statue. These seats are harsh and an ache for a person’s rear end. They’re unpopular as I never see people use it for anything else but to tie their shoes or put their backpacks on top of. Overall, these eating eras are inadvisable.

Concrete slabs in between the C and B building : Similar to the concrete seating area by the cafeteria, these concrete slabs are a gamble to sit on because it’s extremely dependent on the weather. But, they do provide lots of space to move around and a nice spot to rest during passing periods before entering class.

Green benches to the right of the library : in front of the A building there are 4 benches. These benches have tables paired with them and it makes them a nice place to sit and work. The benches are isolated which means they’re not as noisy as the other seating areas on campus. They also provide a beautiful view of the school.
