The Dragon king is a in development project by the studio Wonderstorm, that if made, would be the sequel to the Dragon Prince a well liked series that was originally released on Netflix but was canceled before its final arc could be made ending with 7 seasons. The project has gained funding on kickstarter that will serve as more of a proof of concept so they can get the show made and released on a streaming service, like the Dragon Prince was on Netflix before it got canceled. The Wonderstorm team had goals set for the kickstarter that they’ve almost all reached with only the last one being the million dollar mark that hasn’t been reached. The goals all had things to be released when they were reached being teasers for what the series would look like with the new designs for the characters whose stories would continue in their adult versions after a time skip in the story of this potential new show. The show, If made, would also be made with the intent of new people jumping into the Dragon King world without needing to go to Netflix and watch the Dragon Prince first. 

There were 11 pledge levels with the 4 highest pledge levels being all taken up the fast. At the $100 mage level and higher it offers credits to be seen in the series as nano producers along with some of the highest levels offering producer apparel and insight into the process the wonderstorm team goes through on the road to making the series as well as all pledge levels getting things like plushies and other merch made for the series.The last goal they had at a million dollars unlocked an animation of the new character for the series, “Luna Devorans” voiced by Liam O’ Brien, known from Critical Role as well as a TTRPG one shot that would feature the character for the campaign that people could play through as the characters from the series. The Bloodmoon Mage and Archdragon of the Bloodmoon were recommended by Liam and chosen to be added by their team. 

Wonderstorm had chosen to do all this on Kickstarter to give the fans a chance to support the series they love as well as give them an open view of the process step by step to getting to the show giving all kinds of behind the scenes access and sneak peeks to all backers to some level with all the levels. They plan to have the potential series “fire on all cylinders from” the first minute.
