Following the Commanders move the Las Vegas raiders trade for Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks. With the addition of new head coach Peter Carrol, the Raiders look to reunite the Seattle connection between the two. All teams trying to make valuable trades take us to Pittsburgh where the Steelers make a move for NFL star DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in a return for a 2025 second round pick and pick-swap. Dk Metcalf will be a crucial add on to Pittsburgh’s offense giving newly added quarterback Aaron Rodgers a vital receiver who will play a huge part in their offense.
Trades are a crucial part of the offseason but we can’t forget about the incoming rookies looking to make a comfortable transition between college football to NFL competition. The most hyped up rookie coming into the 2025 draft is Travis Hunter who was picked up by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis Hunter, a two way player coming off his Heisman winning year out of the University of Colorado, is looking to make an exciting jump from college to NFL. Another rookie to look out for this season who is a bruising style player is Ashton Jeanty drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders. Ashton Jeanty who had a Heisman caliber season at Boise St. is looking to prove the doubters wrong to show that he is the best running back out of the draft. Flipping to the defensive side we have Abdul Carter who was picked third overall in the 2025 draft by the New York Giants. Abdul Carter coming off his Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award is looking to show the same physicality he possessed at Penn St. and take it to the next level.
Signings are a major part of the offseason and it is mandatory to look at some of the BlockBuster signings for the 2025 NFL season. Starting us out we have Justin Fields who recently signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024 following the separation he signed a two year contract worth 40 million to the New York Jets. Following the move from Justin Fields in desperate measures the Pittsburgh Steelers needing a quarterback offers Aaron Rodgers a 13.65 million contract for one year which he signs. Taking a look at the defensive signings we have NFL star Joey Bosa whose previous team the Los Angeles Chargers couldn’t come to an agreement with his contract following his free agency he signed with the Buffalo Bills worth 12.6 million. Covering all the big player changes this year lets take a look at the teams that will be a force on the field this year. Starting off we have the Washington Commanders who have turned into real competitors over the last few years. The next team looking to compete this year are the Detroit Lions who rely on their powerhouse offensive linemen mixed with some stellar passing game will be a force to be reckon with. The last team looking to make a statement are the Buffalo Bills who every year are contenders but always come up short in the playoffs. From what we covered it is hard to hold back the excitement for the 2025 NFL season.
