Now we all know that there are many religions out there and one thing they all have in common is that they have people going to church. This is because believe it or not there are benefits of going to church both physically and spiritually. Whether you go to church or not, here are 5 benefits for attending church.
Physical Health
According to T.M Luhrman, she states, “Religious attendance – at least religiously – boosts the immune system and decreases blood pressure,” (New York Times: The Benefits of Church). So because people are attending church their bodies are getting healthier. People have better habits, good behavior and social support because of going to church. The church teaches people how to be a better person.
The church tells people that they have a purpose and that people know they have a hope and a future because of going to church (Jeremiah 29:11). No matter what church you go to, going to church helps you to learn how to help others and to think about others. It helps you to take a moment and think about the situation instead of immediately acting in emotions.
Family
The church also brings families together. It helps families that are going through tough times. If your family has fights, arguments or just quarrels in general, seeking wise counsel and going to church helps fix that as long as the people are willing to change. The church teaches forgiveness and having mercy on others. It teaches people to love others and to forgive one another.
Some households aren’t the most peaceful and that’s because of anger, strife, out of orderness, etc. There needs to be a change and that’s where the church comes in. The church helps teach people to have self control and to forgive and in the end, households have more peace in them because of the church. Some people are against the church saying it’s not needed when all the church does is help people. I know multiple stories of people’s lives being changed for the better because of going to church. All the church wants to do is help others.
Leadership
People who also go to church become great leaders. Good churches help people be leaders and not just any leader but a great leader. Leaders are crucial for our everyday lives because a leader helps other people to be better, to be a better person. The church builds leaders and leaders build people to be better leaders. A leader leads people in the right direction and the church helps teach that.
Leaders are great for jobs, businesses, families or anything in general. In the end something is leading us and the church creates great leaders to help others to not go in the wrong direction. They help lead others to make right decisions and to go on the right path.
Wisdom
People also gain wisdom from going to church. The church is meant to help people make the right choices. To teach people what to do and what not to do. People who have wisdom are good at making wise decisions which are good for businesses, jobs, etc.
Going to church is not just some religious act, people really get changed for the better and know how to live a good life filled with benefits. For example, ever since I went to church my life has changed forever. I started to feel this peace like no other, my family and household is peaceful. My parents aren’t fighting anymore because of attending church. I started to grow a lot and have been able to mature and gain wisdom for being a leader. It doesn’t matter how old you are, attending church will help anyone at any age. It helped me at 8 years old and since then I have grown and matured and became a great leader at 15 years old.
Spiritual Growth
Lastly, when people attend church they also get spiritual growth from it. They help you draw closer to the creator and help you to know that someone has a perfect plan and future for you. The church helps you to draw closer to God.
No matter what church people go to they are meant to grow in that church. The church is here to help us get from one level to a completely different level in life and with that, we can help others get to that level too. Because of these benefits I encourage you to go to a church.
I go to The Way World Outreach Church and I encourage you to get connected with a church because it can help you in many ways just like how it helped me. God bless.
