At Eisenhower High School if you go to room T-7, you will find the Drama Club and its advisor Mr. Ressa. The Most people might have an idea of what it is but behind the scenes what goes into being in Drama Club is a complete mystery to most.
Drama Club Member Jacob Montalvo claims he joined the drama club is because he had “never done it and wanted something new”. Drama Club would be a new experience for most, people often don’t like putting themselves out there however that is what Drama Club promotes. Being on camera and performing in front of others is a part of being in the Drama Club. Being social, not only to your fellow club members, but also being on school media for everyone to see. This would be something that many people don’t get to experience.
Every club comes with their drawbacks and drama club is no exception. Having ideas and imagination are key aspects for drama club as stated by Jacob “if you don’t have a good imagination, it could be tough” along with this “getting into groups and not knowing what group you’re gonna be in” could be another drawback of drama club.
Drama club of course isn’t all bad with Jacob claiming that in his opinion, the main goal of the club is “to get people to be more open” and claims that they liked doing “The science of happiness” an assignment that the club gives to the students.
Drama club is portrayed as a club that like any other has difficulties, but the fun and social experience that come with being in the club outweigh the little flaws. Joining the drama club would be a new and helpful experience for most and when asked what they would say to someone interested in drama club. Jacob believes people should “Do it because it’s fun and different” Which embodies the the activities and experience of Drama Club.
